Olandria Carthen & Painted by Esther Front MACzine

MAC Cosmetics has launched the May edition of its MACzine. Focusing on the theme of blush, the company has chosen Olandria Carthen as the latest cover model. For this glamorous spread, makeup artist Painted By Esther created Carthen’s full-face MAC glamour – highlighting her iconic gradient blush technique in celebration of the new Skinfinish Colourstruck Blush.

As a crucial innovator in the beauty realm, the MACzine explores Painted By Esther’s philosophy on beauty and her ability to reshape our understanding of blush. “My objective is always to reveal the inherent radiance and never allow makeup to conceal the person within,” the makeup artist shares. “I aim for inner beauty to manifest in its most exquisite form while honoring every hue, feature, and expression of African American women.”

As a devoted patron of Painted By Esther, Olandria Carthen discloses that blush has become an integral aspect of her distinctive beauty style. “I genuinely believe that [blush] accentuates my features, and I truly want many women with dark skin tones to not hesitate to apply blush. It’s stunning and it showcases our inherent beauty,” she remarks. Thanks to Painted By Esther’s significant sway in the makeup industry, the zine aspires to further emphasize how African American beauty continues to influence trends.

Separately, Jennie becomes the inaugural ambassador of Vaseline.
